Biography

Blessed Manuel Aranda Espejo, a seminarian of the diocese of Jaén, Spain, was born on 22 March 1916 in Monte Lope Alvarez, Jaén. He displayed an early calling to the priesthood and dedicated his life to pursuing this vocation. Manuel was described as a pious and dedicated young man, deeply committed to his faith.

In the tumultuous times of the Spanish Civil War, Manuel found himself caught in a conflict that pitted his countrymen against each other in a violent struggle for power.
