Biography

Blessed Magdalen Albrizzi, also known as Maddalena Albrici, was born around 1415 into an esteemed noble family in Como, Italy. After the passing of her parents, Magdalen felt a strong calling to devote herself entirely to a life of prayer and service to God. With great determination, she entered the religious life and became a nun at the convent located in Brunate, Italy.

Deeply inspired by the teachings of Saint Augustine, Magdalen sought to affiliate her convent with the Augustinian hermits, with whom she shared a strong spiritual affinity. In this capacity, she tirelessly worked as the abbess of the convent, leading her fellow nuns by example and guiding them in their spiritual journey.

One of Blessed Magdalen Albrizzi's most significant accomplishments was the establishment of a hospice in Como, Italy. This hospice provided care and shelter to those in need, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to practicing compassion and extending God's love to all.
