Biography

Blessed Luis Ramírez Y Ramírez, also known as "Blessed Luis of Peñarroya," was a Catholic priest of the diocese of Córdoba, Spain. He dedicated his life to the service of God and the communities of Luque, El Carpio, Villaralto, and Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo. Born on 11 October 1887 in Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo, Córdoba, Spain, Luis Ramírez Y Ramírez grew up in a deeply religious family, where faith played an essential role in his upbringing.

After completing his studies, he entered the seminary of Córdoba and was ordained a priest for the diocese. Known for his humility, compassion, and dedication, Blessed Luis tirelessly served the people of his communities, providing spiritual guidance, administering the sacraments, and rendering charitable assistance to those in need. The beatification recognition ceremony was celebrated at the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Córdoba, Spain. Cardinal Marcello Semeraro presided over the joyful event, which honored the life and sacrifice of this devoted priest.
