Blessed Luis Aguirre Bilbao, also known as Luis Aguirre, was born on 13 September 1914 in Murguía, Vizcaya, Spain. Orphaned at a young age, Luis faced many hardships in his early life. Despite the challenges, he remained steadfast in his faith and was determined to serve God.

His strong desire to enter the religious life led him to join the Vincentians, an order founded by St. Vincent de Paul. On 30 June 1933, Luis made his profession as a member of the Vincentians.

During the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War, when religious persecution was rampant, Luis Aguirre fearlessly continued his religious vocation.
