Biography

Blessed Luigi Beltrame Quattrocchi, born on January 12, 1880, in Catania, Italy, was a devout layman lawyer who dedicated his life to serving others and living out his faith. He was the son of Carlo and Francesca Quattrocchi and grew up in a deeply religious family that instilled in him a strong sense of Christian values.

Luigi Quattrocchi was blessed with a loving and faithful marriage to Maria Corsini, who would later also be beatified by the Catholic Church. Together, they raised a family of four children, three of whom answered the call to religious life, following in their parents' footsteps.

During the tumultuous years of World War II, the Quattrocchi family demonstrated incredible courage and compassion. Their home in Italy became a shelter for numerous refugees fleeing the horrors of war. Luigi and Maria selflessly opened their doors to those in need, providing safety, comfort, and support to those displaced by the conflict.

Throughout his life, Luigi Quattrocchi also donned the role of a public servant, serving as the deputy attorney-general of Italy. He used his legal expertise to advocate for justice and uphold the principles of fairness and equality.

Blessed Luigi Beltrame Quattrocchi's dedication to his faith was evident in his commitment to family, community, and the pursuit of truth. He lived out his Catholic beliefs with great integrity and was an inspiration to many.

On November 9, 1951, Luigi Quattrocchi passed away suddenly due to a heart attack. Although his physical presence was lost, his influence continued to be felt by all those who knew him and came into contact with his remarkable kindness and generosity.

Recognizing his extraordinary virtues, Pope John Paul II declared Luigi Quattrocchi as venerable on July 7, 2001. Later that year, on October 21, he was beatified by Pope John Paul II, who acknowledged the miraculous healing of a young man with a severe circulatory disorder as the cause for his beatification. The young man, now a neuro-surgeon in Milan, Italy, credits his healing to the intercession of Blessed Luigi Quattrocchi.

Blessed Luigi Beltrame Quattrocchi is celebrated and remembered on two feast days, November 9th and November 25th, in honor of his birth and death anniversaries. His life serves as a shining example of selflessness, faith, and love, inspiring others to live authentic Christian lives and seek holiness in their own unique vocations.
