Biography

Blessed Lorenzo Gutiérrez Rojo, also known as Félix Lorenzo, was a devout monk and a member of the Marist Brothers of the Schools. He was born on April 10, 1906, in the town of Las Hormazas, Burgos, Spain. From a young age, Lorenzo displayed a deep love for God and a strong desire to serve others.

Lorenzo entered the order of the Marist Brothers, dedicating his life to the education and spiritual formation of young people. As a member of this religious congregation, he embraced a life of poverty, chastity, and obedience. He was known for his kindness, humility, and dedication to his vocation.

Tragically, during the turbulent years of the Spanish Civil War, a conflict marked by intense religious persecution, Blessed Lorenzo Gutiérrez Rojo was martyred for his faith. On September 3, 1936, in the town of Les Avellanes, Balaguer, Lleida, Spain, he was put to death for refusing to renounce his Catholic beliefs.
