Blessed

Martyr

Feast Day: January 6

Biography

Blessed Liceria of Sens, also known as Saint Liceria, was a nun and martyr whose life remains shrouded in mystery. While other traditions have attached various stories and legends to her name over the years, we currently have no substantial historical information about her life.

What we do know is that Saint Liceria's relics were enshrined in several locations throughout the diocese of Sens, France. The Saint Remigius monastery, the Saint Colombanus monastery (on 11 May 1567), and the church of Saint Peter in Sens all hold relics that are believed to belong to Blessed Liceria.

Her feast days are celebrated on 6 January and 15 May, which commemorates the translations of her relics. Saint Liceria's relics are venerated by the faithful and serve as a reminder of her sanctity and witness to the faith.

Though her beatification status is not indicated here, it is possible that she may have been beatified or at least recognized locally as a blessed by the Church. However, without further information, it is difficult to make a definitive statement on this matter.

As a Catholic scholar, I must note that the information available on Blessed Liceria of Sens is limited, and no certain historical accounts exist regarding her life and martyrdom. It is important to approach her story with caution, separating facts from legends or traditions that may have developed over time.
