Blessed Justo Lerma Martínez, also known as Father Francisco María of Torrent, was a Spanish Catholic priest and member of the Capuchin Tertiary Fathers and Brothers of Our Lady of Sorrows. He was born on November 12, 1886, in Torrent, Valencia, Spain.
As a devout and dedicated priest, Father Justo devoted his life to serving God and the Church. He joined the Capuchin Tertiary Fathers and Brothers, a religious order known for their commitment to prayer, poverty, and service to the marginalized. Father Justo's vocation allowed him to live a life of simplicity, humility, and deep faith.
However, the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 brought immense persecution and violence against the Catholic Church in Spain. Father Justo, along with many other clergy and religious, became the target of anti-Catholic forces. Tragically, on September 18, 1936, in Torrent, Valencia, Father Justo Lerma Martínez was martyred for his unwavering dedication to God and the Church.
