In recognition of his heroic virtue and martyrdom, Blessed Justino Alarcón Vera was venerated by Pope Benedict XVI on 28 April 2006 through a decree of martyrdom. The Pope later beatified him on 28 October 2007, officially declaring him a blessed of the Catholic Church.
