Biography

Blessed Julia Durán Palacios, also known as Bl. Julia Durán, was a lay woman in the diocese of Córdoba, Spain, who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. She was born in 1905 and lived a life devoted to her Catholic faith.

Julia Durán Palacios was known for her deep spirituality and unwavering commitment to her beliefs. The beatification ceremony was led by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, who proclaimed Julia Durán Palacios as blessed and honored her as a model for Catholics to emulate.

Today, Blessed Julia Durán Palacios is remembered and venerated for her witness to the Catholic faith and her ultimate sacrifice in defense of her beliefs. Her feast day is celebrated on 27th August, the day of her martyrdom.
