Blessed José Salvador Huertagutiérrez was the brother of Blessed José Luciano Ezequiel Huerta-Gutiérrez, with whom he shared a deep faith in God. He was known for his strong devotion to the Eucharist and his unwavering commitment to attending daily Mass, even in the face of persecution and danger.
During the tumultuous era of the Mexican Revolution, when the Catholic Church faced severe persecution, Blessed José Salvador Huertagutiérrez became a martyr for his faith. He was unjustly imprisoned, cruelly tortured, and ultimately executed for his refusal to renounce his beliefs and abandon his devotion to God.
