This declaration paved the way for his beatification, which took place on 13 October 2013, conducted by Pope Francis.
Today, Blessed José María González Solís is honored and venerated as a martyr and a defender of the faith. His feast day is celebrated on 3 October, the anniversary of his martyrdom.
