Biography

Blessed José López Tascón, also known as José Tascón, was a Dominican priest who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. He was born on 3rd March 1896 in Aviados, León, Spain. As a young man, José felt a strong calling to the priesthood and entered the Dominican Order, known for their commitment to preaching, teaching, and living a life of prayer.

After completing his formation and studies, Fr. José López Tascón dedicated himself to serving God and his community. He tirelessly preached the Gospel, offering spiritual guidance and support to those in need. José López Tascón. This decree acknowledged that he was killed exclusively due to hatred for his faith. Subsequently, on 28th October 2007, Pope Benedict XVI beatified him, officially declaring him Blessed José López Tascón.
