Blessed Imana of Loss, also known as Himmanna, Imaina, or Imaine, was a Cistercian Benedictine nun who served as the abbess at Salzinnes in Namur, France, and later at Flines in the diocese of Cambrai, France.
Born in an unknown year, very little is known about the early life of Blessed Imana. However, her devotion to God and her call to the religious life led her to enter the Cistercian Benedictine order. She dedicated her life to prayer, contemplation, and the service of God and the Church.
Imana's deep spirituality and commitment to the monastic way of life quickly earned her the respect and admiration of her fellow sisters in the community. Her natural leadership skills and her deep commitment to the principles of the Benedictine Rule made her an ideal candidate for the position of abbess.
She was appointed as the abbess at Salzinnes, a Cistercian monastery in Namur, France. Under her guidance, the community flourished, both spiritually and materially. Her leadership was marked by a strong emphasis on prayer, simplicity, and humility. She ensured that the liturgy was celebrated with reverence and that the sisters were properly trained in the teachings of the Church.
