Blessed Gerard of Sassoferrato, also known as Gerard of Serradeconti, Girard, or Gherardo, was a devout Catholic figure born in 1280 in Sassoferrato, Italy. At a young age of nine, he joined the Camaldolese order as a novice at the Holy Cross Abbey in his hometown.
