Blessed Francisco Gargallo Gascón, also known as Francisco Gargallo Gascon, was a Mercedarian priest who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. He was born on 24 February 1872 in Castellote, Teruel, Spain.
As a young man, Francisco felt a calling to serve God and entered the Mercedarian Order, a religious community dedicated to the redemption of captives. He embraced the charism of the order and committed his life to the service of others. After completing his studies and formation, he was ordained a priest and began his ministry.

Recognizing his heroic witness, Pope Benedict XVI declared him venerable on 19 December 2011, acknowledging his martyrdom. Further, Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, proclaiming him blessed. This beatification ceremony was a celebration of his virtuous life and the ultimate sacrifice he made for the Catholic Church.
