Francis Taylor's devout Catholic faith guided his actions and beliefs throughout his life. He served as the Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1595, where he displayed his commitment to justice and moral leadership. However, his Catholicism presented challenges in a time when religious tensions and persecution were prevalent.

In his pursuit of defending his faith, Francis Taylor entered politics and was elected to Parliament. Unfortunately, due to his Catholic beliefs, he was denied his seat.
