Blessed Francis Ronci, also known as Francesco, was born in 1223 in the town of Abri, Italy. He joined the Holy Spirit Community of Maiella, also known as the Celestines, and became a devoted member of this religious order. Under the guidance of Saint Peter Celestine, Francis deepened his spirituality and grew in his dedication to the service of God.

As a priest, Francis had the privilege of assisting Saint Peter Celestine at the hermitages of Orfente and Morrone. These hermitages were places of solitude and contemplation for the Celestines, and Francis humbly served alongside his mentor in these spiritual retreats.

In 1285, Francis was appointed as the prior of the Celestine monastery of the Holy Spirit in Maiella, Italy. He embraced this role with great devotion and compassion, providing spiritual guidance and overseeing the daily operations of the monastery.

His leadership qualities and commitment to the Celestine order were recognized, and Francis was appointed as the first general of the Celestines. He held this esteemed position until his death, faithfully leading the order and upholding their spiritual values.

On September 18, 1294, Pope Celestine V, who was a great admirer of Francis, created him a cardinal-priest of San Lorenzo in Damaso. This appointment reflected the Pope's high regard for Francis, his spiritual wisdom, and his dedication to the Church.

Blessed Francis Ronci passed away on October 13, 1294, in Sulmona, Italy, due to natural causes. His death marked the end of a life dedicated to the pursuit of holiness and the service of God. Throughout his existence, Francis exemplified the virtues of humility, piety, and obedience, leaving behind an inspiring legacy within the Celestine order.

While not much is known about his specific representations or whether he has been officially venerated or beatified, his feast day is celebrated on June 4th, commemorating his life and contributions to the Catholic faith. Blessed Francis Ronci remains a revered figure among the Celestines and a source of inspiration for those seeking a deeper connection with God.
