Blessed Fortis Gabrielli, also known as Forte, was born in Gubbio, Umbria, Italy, although the exact date of his birth remains unknown. He lived during the 11th century and devoted his life to the service of God. Blessed Fortis Gabrielli is revered as a hermit in the mountains near Scheggia, Italy.

Fortis Gabrielli began his spiritual journey under the guidance of Blessed Ludolph, a renowned spiritual teacher. Inspired by the teachings of Ludolph, he decided to dedicate himself to a life of solitude and contemplation. Blessed Fortis Gabrielli joined the Benedictine order and became a monk-hermit at the monastery of Fontavellana.

The hermitage at Fontavellana, nestled amidst the serene surroundings of the Italian mountains, provided Fortis Gabrielli with the perfect environment for his spiritual pursuits.
