As a young man, Felicissimo entered the Benedictine monastery of San Eutizio near Norcia, Italy. However, due to the difficult financial situation of his poor farming family, he was forced to leave and seek employment to support them. Undeterred by the circumstances, Felicissimo took up the humble profession of a cowherd.

While tending to the cows in the fields, Felicissimo would spend his time in prayer, seeking solace and guidance from God. Despite his own poverty, he was known for giving all that he could spare to those who were even poorer than himself. His selflessness and generosity earned him a reputation as a compassionate and caring individual.

Seeking a deeper level of spiritual solitude, Felicissimo eventually retired to live as a hermit near the town of Pulcano, Italy. In his hermitage, he dedicated himself to fervent prayer and contemplation, particularly focusing on the conversion of indifferent Christians. It was said that Felicissimo possessed a special spiritual gift as a miracle worker, and many sought his intercession for physical and spiritual healing.
