Biography

Blessed Emilio Arce Díez, born on 31 October 1908 in San Martín de Ubierna, Burgos, Spain, was baptized at the tender age of 2 days. He dedicated his life to serving God as a Salesian Brother and made his vows in Carabanchel Alto, Madrid, Spain on 16 July 1926.

Emilio Arce Díez served as the head tailor for colleges in La Coruna, Astudillo, and Madrid, displaying his skill and craftsmanship in his chosen profession. However, his devotion to God and his desire to bring the light of Christ to others extended beyond the confines of his work.

During the tumultuous times of the Spanish Civil War, Blessed Emilio Arce Díez remained steadfast in his faith. Unfortunately, his unwavering commitment led to his martyrdom. On 23 July 1936, he was shot in Madrid, Spain, for his refusal to renounce his Catholic faith.

Blessed Emilio Arce Díez's life and sacrifice exemplify the courage and dedication of a true disciple of Christ.
