Blessed Emiliano Martínez De La Pera Alava, also known as Brother Lorenzo Santiago, was a member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. He was born on 8 August 1913 in Huerto de Arriba, Alava, Spain.

Emiliano Martínez joined the Brothers of the Christian Schools, also known as the De La Salle Brothers, at a young age. The religious order, founded by St. John Baptist de La Salle, is dedicated to the education of young people, particularly the poor.
