Biography

Blessed Elizabeth of Melegnano, also known as Lisabetta, was a devout Poor Clare nun who resided in the monastery of Santa Chiara in Mortara, Italy. She was born in the 15th century in Melegnano, a town located in the Lombardy region of Italy.

Little is known about Elizabeth's early life and upbringing. However, it is evident that she felt a strong calling to dedicate her life to God, leading her to join the Poor Clares, a Franciscan religious order known for their deep commitment to poverty, prayer, and contemplation.
