Biography

Blessed Dionisio Rugger, also known as Dionisio Ruggeri, was a Mercedarian friar who dedicated his life to the evangelization and conversion of Muslims and the liberation of enslaved Christians in the area of Provence, which is now part of modern France. Although information regarding his birth and death dates is not available, his extraordinary life and unwavering devotion have made him a revered figure within the Mercedarian order.

Inspired by the teachings of St. Peter Nolasco, the founder of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy, Dionisio Rugger joined the Mercedarians at a young age.
