Recognizing his heroic virtue and the sacrifice he made, Pope Francis proclaimed the martyrdom of Blessed Diego Morata Cano on the 14th of June 2016. This declaration elevated him to the rank of Blessed, an honor bestowed upon those who have exhibited exceptional holiness and courage in their lives.
Further recognizing his sanctity, Pope Francis went on to beatify Blessed Diego Morata Cano on the 25th of March 2017, in a grand ceremony held at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Aguadulce in Almería. The beatification ceremony was presided over by Cardinal Angelo Amato, representing the Pope, and was attended by thousands of faithful from around the world.
As a martyr and a blessed, Blessed Diego Morata Cano serves as a shining example of faith, courage, and love for God. His life continues to inspire and remind us of the importance of remaining steadfast in our beliefs, even in the face of adversity.
