Blessed Crescencio Ortiz Blanco was a devoted member of the Redemptorists, a Catholic religious congregation. He made his profession on 24 September 1900, dedicating his life to serving God and spreading the message of salvation.
Crescencio Ortiz Blanco was born on 10 March 1881 in Pamplona, Navarra, Spain. From a young age, he displayed a deep faith and a strong desire to serve the Lord. Recognizing his vocation, he joined the Redemptorists, an order known for their commitment to preaching missions and community work.
After years of formation and spiritual guidance, Crescencio was ordained a priest on 23 December 1905. As a priest, he passionately fulfilled his duties, ministering to the spiritual needs of both the Redemptorist community and the faithful at large. His homilies were known for their clarity, heartfelt messages, and ability to touch the souls of the congregation.
Unfortunately, Crescencio's life was cut short by the Spanish Civil War. During this tumultuous period in Spanish history, rampant persecution targeted clergy and religious figures. He fearlessly and bravely embraced his faith until the very end, refusing to renounce his beliefs despite the imminent danger to his life.

Recognizing his martyrdom, Pope Francis proclaimed him venerable on 24 April 2021, acknowledging Crescencio's heroic virtues and the impact of his life on the Catholic Church.
Although Crescencio Ortiz Blanco has not been officially beatified as of yet, his story and example serve as an inspiration to the faithful, reminding them of the importance of remaining steadfast in the face of adversity.
