Despite the harsh circumstances, Claudebarnabé remained steadfast in his faith and continued to minister to his fellow prisoners, offering them comfort and solace.
On September 7, 1794, Claudebarnabé Laurent De Mascloux succumbed to the severe hardships he endured and passed away aboard the prison ship. His death was a testament to his unwavering commitment to God and his Church, even in the face of extreme adversity.
Blessed Claudebarnabé Laurent De Mascloux's martyrdom and unwavering faith were recognized by the Catholic Church. On July 2, 1994, Pope John Paul II decreed his venerability, acknowledging his heroic virtue and holiness of life. Subsequently, on October 1, 1995, Pope John Paul II beatified him, declaring him blessed.
