During the turbulent years of the Spanish Civil War, Antoni remained steadfast in his faith and commitment to the Gospel. He fearlessly stood up for justice and defended the rights of the oppressed. Antoni's unwavering dedication to his flock and his refusal to compromise his principles made him a prime target for the anti-Catholic forces of the time.

Due to his brave witness and sacrifice, Antoni Carmani√∫ Mercarder was venerated by Pope Francis on July 5, 2013. His martyrdom was officially recognized, and he was beatified on October 13, 2013, by Pope Francis.

As a Vincentian priest, Antoni would have embraced the spirituality and mission of the Congregation of the Mission, founded by St. Vincent de Paul. The Vincentians are known for their dedication to serving the poor and marginalized, as well as their commitment to fostering priestly formation and education.

Though specific details about Blessed Antoni Carmani√∫ Mercarder's life and contributions are limited, it is evident that he lived his vocation with utmost dedication and love for God and his fellow human beings. As a martyr, he furthered the cause of the Gospel through his ultimate sacrifice, becoming an example of faith, courage, and commitment to Catholicism in the face of adversity. We honor him on his feast days of August 17 and November 6, alongside the other Vincentian Martyrs, as a symbol of unwavering faith and devotion.
