He was born on 9 December 1872 in Montalbán, a town located in the province of Córdoba. From a young age, he demonstrated a deep commitment to his faith and a strong desire to serve others.

After completing his education and formation, Alfonso Guadix Fuenterobles was ordained as a Catholic priest and began his ministry in the Bujalance community, within the diocese of Córdoba. Despite the threat to his life, Alfonso Guadix Fuenterobles remained steadfast in his devotion to God and embraced his martyrdom with courage and grace.

Blessed Alfonso Guadix Fuenterobles' martyrdom was a testimony to his unyielding faith and his willingness to sacrifice his own life rather than abandon his religious convictions. His extraordinary bravery in the face of persecution and his ultimate sacrifice serve as an inspiration to all believers.

Recognizing his heroic virtues and martyrdom, Pope Francis issued the decree of martyrdom on 23 November 2020, affirming Alfonso Guadix Fuenterobles' status as a martyr. This declaration cleared the way for his beatification, which took place on 16 October 2021 in a ceremony held at the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Córdoba, Spain. The beatification recognition was presided over by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, who represented the Pope.

Blessed Alfonso Guadix Fuenterobles' life and death exemplify the profound love for God and dedication to the Catholic faith.
