Tragically, Father Agustí Ibarra Angüela met his martyrdom on August 15, 1936, in Barcelona, Spain. This veneration acknowledged his status as a blessed, attesting to his exemplary life and martyrdom for the sake of his faith.
On October 13, 2013, Pope Francis presided over the beatification ceremony of Blessed Agustí Ibarra Angüela in Tarragona, Spain. This ceremony publicly recognized him as a martyr and a blessed, further confirming his holy intercession and example to all Catholics.
