Blessed Adelelmo of Engelberg, also known as Adelelmus or Adelhelm, was a Benedictine monk who played a significant role in the establishment and development of the abbey of Engelberg nell’Unterwalden in Switzerland. Unfortunately, exact details of his birth and early life are not available.

Adelelmo began his religious journey as a monk at the esteemed Saint Blaise of Hirsau monastery, located in the Black Forest. It was during his time there that he displayed exceptional dedication and leadership, earning the respect of his fellow monks. Eventually, he was chosen to lead a group of monks to establish a new abbey in Engelberg nell’Unterwalden.
