Biography

Blessed Ángel Ayape Remón, also known as Bruno José, was a Catholic monk and member of the Marist Brothers of the Schools. He was born on 1 October 1915 in Cáseda, Navarra, Spain.

Ángel Ayape Remón joined the Marist Brothers and dedicated his life to serving God and educating young people. He lived a life of faith and devotion, committed to his religious vows and the ideals of his order.

During the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War, which lasted from 1936 to 1939, Ángel Ayape Remón courageously stood for his convictions, even in the face of persecution. On 23 August 1936, at the age of 20, he was martyred in Toledo, Spain, for his unwavering commitment to his faith.

The Spanish Civil War was a time of great turmoil and religious persecution, with many Catholics and clergy members targeted for their beliefs. Ángel Ayape Remón's sacrifice and martyrdom exemplify his steadfast dedication to his faith, even in the face of adversity.
